Finally out of my creative funk

The summer has not been good to be from a creative standpoint. I didn't feel like doing anything creative but the juices seem to be flowing again and I have been busy. Nothing big, but just having some fun to get back into the swing of things. I had this piece of paper/fabric that I got with some plant and decided to play with it. I painted it up, stitched it and put it on ugly piece of my hand dyed fabric. I added some sequins, french knots and hand stitching then quilted it all up. Here is a detail shot of what I did. Not sure what I am going to do with it, but it was fun.

Thread painting

I have been working on my project and making some good progress. Today was a first for me. I tried my hand at some thread painting. Not bad, although I will not be competition for anyone. It was sort of fun once I relaxed. Of course I kept it pretty simple so it was hard to screw up!
This piece also calls for some beading so I have lots of work still ahead of me. This piece is going to be larger than I have been working on lately. Probably a good thing. The larger size poses other challenges but leaves me more options.
I am starting to get ready for my class with Ann Johnston at QSDS soon. If anyone else is going, let me know so we can meet up. I think it will be lots of fun.

Quilted

I did a simple quilting job even I couldn't screw up. I echo quilted around the fish and channel quilted the seams. I may or may not add some hand stitches but it is going on hold since I am going to go look for play fish to embellish with.
Susan will no longer be horrified!
