Stitching, stitching, stitching

I have been doing lots of hand stitching on my Geisha piece. It is coming along nicely. I might actually get this one done! No picture as I am thinking of submitting this somewhere... if I can get it done. I am almost ready for the quilting and I know what I am going to do. I CAN do this!

On a more humorous note.. I was taking a break and decided to check out my SPAM folder. Today's haul was offering me better meds at lower prices... wonder what they think I am taking? Or maybe they are suggesting I should be taking something, hmmrrph. The other one was offering to increase my size... wonder how they knew I had just been to the doctors and found out I was 1/4" shorter than I was a few years ago....

Have a good week.

Heide part 2

I washed out and ironed the fabrics we did yesterday. Some I like, some will be finding other homes. I did quite a few 2 yard pieces so these are bigger than I am! I had some problem getting them up on my design wall to photograph... they are not straight. We worked on mutli colored pieces in dark values, medium values, and pastels. I was pretty surprised that some of the ones I didn't think I would like, I do. I used sateen and lawn plus I threw in 2 silk scarves just for the heck of it. Hope you enjoy.

2 day class with Heide Stoll-Weber Part 1 of 2

I was lucky enough to take a 2 day dye class with Heide locally here in Scottsdale with 12 other women hosted by Marla Hattabough at her studio. 2 days was definitely not enough time with Heide and I will look forward to a longer class one day. Day 1 was spent doing crossover gradation dyeing. What fun!  The colors are all yummy too. We started with 2 1/2 yard pieces and we all dyed 6 of them to be divided up at the end so we all had a set. I could stare at these for hours. The weather was spectacular and we did most of the work outside. Poor Heide thought 80's was too hot.

                                                                These are all the crossovers

                                                        Lunch time!

I am in the process of washing out all the fabric I dyed yesterday. These will all be multicolors. From what I can see so far they are gorgeous. More later.

Roses

My roses have decided to bloom again. This one is the forerunner.. the others all are budding. Strange time of year but I am not complaining.
