Painted Sandals

These started life as a pair of very boring black sandals that I rarely wore.. not ever sure what possessed me to buy them several years ago. They have been languishing in the bottom of my closet and were about to go into the give away pile when I read a tutorial by Lyric Montgomery Kinard as part of the QuiltArt list Tsunami tutorial postings. There were some other wonderful posts on painted shoes as well and these are a composite of all of them. I didn't have some "ingredients" at hand so used what I had. I am pretty happy with the results and will most definitely get a lot of use out of these now. They are in my favorite summer colors. I used Stuart Gill paints... forgot to gesso first :-( ... let them sit out in the hot sun here (about 110 degrees) to cure and then coated them with Matte Medium. Wish I had some other shoes to jazz up!

I like. I should try this, too. Love those colors together.

Those happen to be my favourite summer colours as well, I'm just saying. Great re-purpose to something usable for you.

Great shoes. I too have a pair I bought that I've been wanting to paint but haven't yet.
