Finished the Still Life's

After being away for 10 days and not getting much hand work done, I came home and fully focused on finishing the 2 Still Life's that I need for a show. Deadline for finishing is this weekend. I made it!! .... well... I still have to put labels on but that doesn't count. I even got to put a few beads on them. They have more hand stitching than I am used to and I still do not find it relaxing. The quilting went a bit more smoothly than usual. I am really finding that I enjoy working with black and white fabrics. They pose challenges that my normal colors do not. And of course I never would have dreamed that I would enjoy doing Still Life, but it is sort of fun in a perverse way. I have now done 4 of these... guess you could say I have finally done something in a series.

I love the color still life with the black and white flowers. They bring your eye right to them.

Hi Sherryl, The black and white piece is neat but the one at the top definitely grabs me. Your stitching and bead work add a lot of interest. Love it.

I, too, like the top piece the best. Face it, we love color! Great job on both pieces Sherryl. Looking forward to seeing you in June!

Sherryl, your first still life is totally awesome...I think what I like about it is the way you used the black and white fabrics, which provide such a high contrast to the piece. It's got a great balance between those and the colors that you used. I think it's perfect!
